North Jersey Football Officials Association Scholarship Fund

The North Jersey Football Officials Association is pleased to announce the NJFOA-North Scholarship Fund.  The Scholarship is intended to recognize graduating high school seniors for their ongoing participation in football and for their academic and community achievements.

The North Jersey Football Officials Association, through its Scholarship Committee, will make scholarship awards of $500 each to graduation scholar-athletes.  Qualified scholarship candidates must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Must be graduating from high school during the current academic year;

  • Must have played football for their high school through their senior year.

  • Must be committed to pursuing higher education at the university, college, or community college level in the current academic year.

The scholarships will be awarded to those candidates who, in the judgment of the Committee, best demonstrate the qualities of commitment to excellence, devotion to football, academic achievement and service to the community.

In awarding the scholarships, financial need will not be a consideration. However, payment of scholarship is subject to proof of enrollment. A personal interview may be required of applicants.

INSTRUCTIONS TO SCHOLARSHIP CANDIDATES

1. Complete the attached Application Form.

2. A Personal Statement must accompany your application.  Your statement should discuss the following:

  • The role that football has played in your personal and academic growth and development;

  • Your educational plans and career goals;

  • Your academic and extracurricular achievements and interests, and;

  • Your service to your school and community.

3. Letter of recommendation from a coach, athletic director, and/or teacher of your choice.

4.  A personal interview may be required. If so a member of the Scholarship Committee will contact you to schedule your interview.

5.  The completed Application Form and accompanying letter(s) must be sent to the Scholarship Committee at:
